Hello fellow NULS advocates and enthusiasts!

Many of you are familiar with We acknowledge some of the challenges the NULS network has faced over the past few months when rolling out software updates. There have been some pretty severe bugs that have plagued the update process, causing a lot of stress for agent node operators, and resulting in bad press for NULS. There has been a lot of talk about how the NULS test network is insufficient to properly test the new code releases, as there are not enough participants, or the test nodes are all running with specifications that do not properly represent the production network. We believe this is a challenge that the community can solve together.

To solve those challenges, and improve the NULS test network ecosystem, and by extension, improve the NULS production ecosystem, Node Forge (https://nodeforge.io) has put together a draft proposal with a number of recommendations. These recommendations range from lowering the barrier to entry for running an agent node, to providing incentives to test node operators in the form of air drops, to stepping up advertising and marketing to attract new potential test node operators. We feel strongly that by taking the actions outlined in our proposal, operating a NULS test agent node will become an attractive prospect. If we make our test network robust, then tests run in it will be more valid, and the software releases to the production main network will be more stable, resulting in happier node operators and better press for NULS.

We'd like to put our proposal up for a vote, but first we want to gather feedback from the community. There's a lot of smart individuals in this forum, and while we're confident that our proposal as-is would make substantial improvements in the NULS ecosystem, we have no doubt that contributions from the community can only improve it. I've attached the current draft of this proposal for everyone to review. Once we've gotten feedback from the community and arrived at a solution that everyone is happy with, we will open it up for a vote.

that the NULS team faces in building and maintaining a fully-fledged NULS test network, especially in the face of the NULS 2.0 network. The NULS community has seen great success with Node Forge’s initial NULS proposal (NCG20190118), we feel it prudent to renew this initiative so as to maintain the test network and production network representation, and maintain the integrity of testing and NULS production releases. By maintaining the NULS test network, we are confident the NULS team can continue to mitigate past challenges experienced by agent node operators and sustain the positive perception of the NULS platform.

We believe it be important to continues incentivizing NULS test agent operators to create and maintain their nodes. We propose to renew the following terms for this proposal to achieve test network sustainability.
